Marbleware Pictures

Hi, and thanks for checking out my blog today!

I just unloaded the kiln tonight, and I think the pieces really turned out great! Better than I expected honestly. I love the color combinations I had chosen for the slips. Like anything, the process can be refined further, but I'm happy where I am with Mochaware and Marbleware decorations on my pots.

Hi there,

Really nice pots and a cool video. Will be sure to keep checking in. Need to work out the putting clips onto blog thing myself.
Cheers

Hi Matt,

Do folks in the UK make Mochaware still? The origin of the technique is in Stafford, North of you I believe.

Thanks,
Brandon

Hello again Brandon,

I only know of a couple of potters making Mochaware at the moment, One is a lady called Vanessa Waller who is based in Northumberland on the Scottish borders I believe - www.potterwaller.com.
The other is based not far from me in the Forest of Dean (Gloucestershire) and is another lady called Christine Hopkins - www.mochapottery.co.uk/mochaware.html.
Check them out I don't know them just of them. There is a couple of pots and some lovely marbled ones in "The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery - Slipware Collection book which I think you can get @Amazon.com if I remember rightly. There must be other Mochaware Potters out here I guess, infact i'd be suprised if there isn't as Mocha pots are really nice. That was a bit of a ramble wasn't it! Tasty little black plate with the green slip over it by the way.
Hope you are good.

Matt :)
